Harper's Taking Action?

The Canadian Conservatives have finally decided to shut down the cabinet committee that started the mission in Afghanistan. The decision to dismantle the committee came Tuesday, after Prime Minister Stephen Harper's minor cabinet shuffle.

"Information is the lifeblood of a democracy. Without adequate access to key information about government policies and programs, citizens and parliamentarians cannot make informed decisions and incompetent or corrupt governments can be hidden under a cloak of secrecy." - Stephen Harper

Sounds like Harper is doing the exact opposite of what he is saying.

  1. This last two posts are very interesting. However, bearing in mind the challenges, Canada- and the federal government faces in Afghanistan, why do you think we are still there, and what is it we hope to achieve? You may wish to refer to my posting in my blog on the ABC News Roundtable, discussing American involvement in Afghanistan.
